Help For Care Givers
Those who are called upon to be constant companions on the journey of life with the sick and elderly are our care givers. They are those within the family who have the privilege, responsibility and yes, sometimes seeming burden of caring for a loved one; spouse, parent, brother, sister or physically challenged child. We often take these situations for granted, but care givers need just as much support from the parish community as those in their care. This has become a recognized need in our world today. There are many valuable websites which reach out to care givers. I recommend The Friends of St. John the Care Giver. This is an international Catholic organization addressing the growing needs of family caregivers by providing:
- Spirituality, information and resources to individual caregivers
- A membership association offering spiritual support for:
- Those who need care
