Divine Mercy Prayer Service with the Singing of the Divine Mercy Chaplet

Although we could not provide a 2020 Divine Mercy Prayer Service with Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament inside the Church this year due to the pandemic, we hope you can join us for the audio version of the 2019 service by listening and meditating on the words of St. Faustina and the singing of the Divine Mercy Chaplet at home.

Pray with us to the Divine Mercy for an end to the coronavirus in the world forever, and bring all your requests to the God of Mercy as you pray:  Jesus, I Trust in You!    Amen.

Prayer of Entrustment:

O Lord, our God. We place our trust in You, because you are mercy itself. We repent of our sins and turn to You for mercy. We trust You to provide for our every need, according to Your will. Help us to forgive others as You forgive us. We promise to be merciful by our deeds, words and prayers. Though we have fears because of human weakness, we rely on Your infinite goodness and mercy. We entrust to You the future of our planet, our Church, our nations, our families and all our needs. With loud cries we implore your mercy on us and on the whole world. Look upon us, created in your image and likeness. Form us in the Heart of Mary by the power of the Holy Spirit into the living images of mercy. May all come to know the depth of Your mercy and sing the praises of Your mercy forever. Amen!

Listen to the Meditation/Prayer with quiet music in the background. Listen as if you were speaking to yourself.

The First Meditation: Trusting in God’s Mercy

Most merciful Jesus,
I turn to You in my need.
You are worthy of my complete trust.
You are faithful in all things.
When my life is filled with confusion, give me clarity and faith.
When I am tempted to despair, fill my soul with hope.
Most merciful Jesus,
I trust You in all things.
I trust in Your perfect plan for my life.
I trust You when I cannot comprehend Your divine Will.
I trust You when all feels lost.
Jesus, I trust You more than I trust myself.

You are all-knowing.
Nothing is beyond Your sight.
You are all-loving.
Nothing in my life is beyond Your concern.
You are all-powerful.
Nothing is beyond Your grace.
Most merciful Jesus,
I trust in You,
I trust in You,
I trust in You.
May I trust You always and in all things.
May I daily surrender to Your Divine Mercy.
All: Most Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of Mercy,
Pray for us as we turn to you in our need.

The Second Meditation: Crying out for God’s Mercy

O my Jesus, … I unite my desires to the desires that
You had on the cross (1581). I call upon You
and … beg Your mercy for poor sinners. …

O Most Sacred Heart, Fount of Mercy from which gush forth rays of inconceivable graces, …
Be mindful of Your own bitter Passion and do not permit the loss of souls redeemed at so dear a price. …
O Jesus, let every soul trust in [Your] Passion and place its hope in [Your] mercy.

[You] will not deny [Your] mercy to anyone.
Heaven and earth may change, but [Your] mercy will never be exhausted.
Jesus! I desire to bring all sinners to Your feet that they may glorify Your
mercy throughout endless ages (72).

I now embrace the whole world and ask You for mercy for it (1582).

All: Most Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of Mercy,
Pray for us as we turn to you in our need.

The Third Meditation: The Divine Mercy Image

Jesus told Sister Faustina to tell the world, I am offering a vessel, with which they are to keep coming for graces to the fountain of mercy. That vessel is this image with the signature ~ Jesus, I Trust in You ~ (327)

St. Faustina writes of her experience on February 22, 1931:
In the evening, when I was in my cell, I became aware of the Lord Jesus clothed in a white garment. One hand was raised in blessing, the other was touching the garment at the breast.

From the opening of the garment at the breast there came forth two large rays, one red and the other pale. In silence I gazed intently at the Lord; my soul was overwhelmed with fear, but also with great joy.

After a while Jesus said to me, ‘paint an image according to the pattern you see, with the inscription:

Jesus, I trust in You.’

Later, Jesus explained to her in another vision:

“The pale ray stands for the Water which makes souls righteous; the red ray stands for the Blood which is the life of souls. These two rays issued forth from the depths of My most tender Mercy at that time when My agonizing Heart was opened by a lance on the Cross…. Fortunate is the one who will dwell in their shelter, for the just hand of God shall not lay hold of him.”

By means of this image, I shall be granting many graces to souls; so let every soul
will have access to it. (570)

All: Most Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of Mercy,
Pray for us as we turn to you in our need.

The Fourth Meditation: Show us the Way

Jesus also said, the graces of mercy are drawn by means of one vessel only, and that is – trust. The more a soul trusts, the more it will receive. (1578) The soul which will trust in My Mercy is most fortunate, because I Myself take care of it.(1273)

O God of compassion, You alone can justify us and You will never reject us when we, contrite, approach your Merciful Heart, where no one has ever been refused, even the greatest of sinners. For Your Son assured us. “Sooner would heaven and earth turn into nothingness than would My mercy fail to embrace a
trusting soul”.  Lord Jesus, here is my soul and my body, my mind and my will, my heart and all my love.

Show me the way to your Divine Mercy and direct me according to God’s eternal plan. Amen.

All: Most Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of Mercy,
Pray for us as we turn to you in our need.

The Fifth Meditation: Grace and the Desire of the Heart for Peace and Mercy for all.

Jesus told Sister Faustina, I desire to grant unimaginable graces to those souls who trust in my mercy. (687) Let them approach this sea of mercy with great trust. Whoever places his trust in My mercy will be filled with My divine peace at the hour of death. (1520)

Jesus, Friend of a lonely heart. You are my haven. You are my peace. You are my salvation. You are my serenity in moments of struggle and amidst an ocean of doubts. You are the bright ray that lights up the path of my life. You are everything to a lonely soul. You understand the soul even though it remains silent. You know my weaknesses and, like a good physician, You comfort and heal, sparing me sufferings.

Jesus, let the image of Your Divine Mercy continue to remind me of your message to the world of the need to Trust in God and to show Mercy toward my neighbor.

Lord, I desire to trust in your divine Mercy to the extent that there is no doubt in my heart and mind that You will bestow upon me this precious gift of love. Help me to trust in Your Mercy because of Your infinite goodness. Jesus, I love you and I trust in You. Amen.

At the end of the meditation all pray:
All: Most Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of Mercy,

Pray for us as we turn to you in our need.
EVERYONE SINGS LAST DECADE TOGETHER

Praise Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament

You expired, Jesus, but the source of life gushed forth for souls and the ocean of mercy opened up for the whole world. O Fount of Life, unfathomable Divine Mercy, envelop the whole world and empty Yourself out upon us. (1319)

Together we Pray:

Eternal God, in whom mercy is endless and the treasury of compassion — inexhaustible, look kindly upon us and increase Your mercy in us, that in difficult moments we might not despair nor become despondent, but with great confidence submit ourselves to Your holy will, which is Love and Mercy itself.

All: O Jesus, eternal God, we thank Y ou for your countless
graces and blessings. Let every beat of our hearts be a new hymn of thanksgiving to You O God. Let
every drop of our blood circulate for You Lord. Our souls are one hymn in adoration of your Mercy.
We love You Jesus, our Lord and our God. Jesus, we trust in You!

Let us Pray:

God, merciful Father, in Y our Son Jesus Christ, Y ou have revealed Your Love and
poured it out upon us in the Holy Spirit, the Comforter. We entrust to You today the
destiny of the world and of every man and woman.

Look at us sinners, heal our weaknesses, conquer all evil, and grant that all peoples of the earth
may experience Your Mercy.

In You, the Triune God, may they ever find the Source of hope. Eternal Father, by the
Passion and Resurrection of Your Son, have mercy on us and upon the whole world!

All:  AMEN
